Steve King, local geologist, will lead the “Turkey Rocks” hike he offers through Tulsa Parks on the geologic history of Turkey Mountain for TGS members and guests.   We will offer the hike April 23^rd at 5:00  PM  and April 27^th at 9:00 AM. Limit of 12 participants each time.

Turkey Rocks is a 2 mile easy to moderate hike with multiple stops on established trails. (About 2 hrs total time.) Steve will lead the tour and discuss geologic features and the processes that created them. The most common fossils of the period will be seen and discussed. The features, processes, and fossils are evidence and chapters within the story of when and how Turkey Mountain was formed. This hike can be strenuous in places and NOT recommended for people with mobility issues or children under 14. 

This will be a great opportunity to discuss the geology of one of our favorite public areas with other geologists.
